SEEDS WE CARRY - Seed Saving Knowledge
Taught by Fatuma Emmad, Head Farmer and Executive Director, and the FrontLine 2024 Seed Saving Team: Saleema Robinson, Jonathan Rodriguez, and Asa Mease. Our seed-saving class reviews basic botany, plant breeding, and the importance of seed saving as a means of cultural story-telling, food preservation and sovereignty. Participants will receive handouts as well as hands-on practice with seed cleaning techniques, such as threshing and winnowing, giving them the ability to continue saving both wet and dry seeds from their own farms and gardens.
This workshop will cost $30. Scholarships are available. Please email your request to info@frontlinefarming.org.
No one will be turned away.
